According to a recent article in an online forum, the cost of health care is set to rise by over 10 percent in the next 12 months. How this will affect insurance rates and how the impending health care reforms would influence premium rates, remains to be seen.
The worst affected by this news are the number of small businesses that are already burdened with a huge revenue outflow on account of employee benefits. What should be their course of action in such a scenario when leading national level insurance brokers are projecting a 10 percent increase in premiums for health insurance? Obviously this is not a time to sit back and wait for a public option while choosing an inertial course of action by auto renewing current policies. On the contrary, it would be beneficial to sit down with a professional insurance broker who can assist you in working out a viable insurance plan for your employees that won’t adversely affect the bottom line in your business. This can be achieved by understanding the nuances of “high deductible plans” or even looking at the possibility of voluntary benefit programs that provide employees with several options for their health care plans.

Health care supplements are nutritional supplements that the body requires in routine day to day life. Health care supplements are made from plant extracts, vegetables, fruits and medical herbs. Health care supplements ensure effectiveness with minimal or no side effects.
A dietary supplement (also known as food supplement) is a preparation intended to supply nutrients (such as vitamins minerals, fatty acids or amino acids) that are missing or not consumed in sufficient quantity in a person’s diet.
“DSHEA” or Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act is an act defining dietary or nutritional supplements as products taken by mouth, containing ingredients intended to supplement the natural diet. These ingredients may include vitamins, minerals, ‘botanicals’ (plant extracts), amino acids or other substances to increase the nutrition in the diet.
Health supplements are specially made pills, powders or syrups which offer extra nourishment or medicinal benefits. If taken along with a healthy diet, these supplements can go a long way producing excellent health effects
Assuring the qualities of herbs and integrating them with vitamins, minerals and special extracts has led to the birth of these health care supplements which have, in a way, a boon the medicinal industry.
Healthcare supplements are accompanied with a complete list of ingredients, applications and advantages. Minimal or no side effects have made the common person self-sufficient with regard to consuming health supplements. Apart from beauty and weight-related remedies, various healthcare supplements also offer highly effective treatment options for a large number of diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, stress, arthritis, high cholesterol, asthma, migraines and many more.

Given the enormous amount of money that is spent on our health care system and the research that has gone into the various diseases we would be excused if we think that there should be able to trust our health care system to deliver quality health care. Sadly, our Western health care system falls well short of what is desired. Instead of healing and health it largely delivers suffering and further disease. Mendelssohn as far back as 1979 (and he wasn’t the first to suggest it) considers that the public has been ‘conned’ about the benefits delivered by ’scientific medicine’. There is a great deal of myth that surrounds our current system.
A part of the myth is that medical practice has produced an overall increase in health in the past one hundred years. However, historical analysis has found that general improvements in social and environmental conditions provide a more adequate explanation of the changes than the rise of ’scientific medicine’. Factors such as the improvement in diet and nutrition, sanitation and improved general living conditions have made the greatest difference.
Hospitals are deadly. Mistakes/errors, accidents, infections, medical drug disasters, diagnostic equipment including; X-rays, ultrasounds and mammograms make hospitals very dangerous. Hard technology has taken over the central role in modern medicine as it is considered effective and efficient. This has however been questioned. It is considered uneconomic and it also causes an unnecessary amount of pain and suffering. Accidents in hospitals now occur more frequently than in any other industry except mining and high rise construction. In addition to this are the medical doctor caused diseases. They are so common that they have their own name – iatrogenesis. Again the general public is unaware of how common this disease is. All told, iatrogenesis accounts for 784,000 deaths each year in the United States – more American deaths than all the wars of the 20th century combined. 98,000 deaths a year are caused by medical errors alone, and surgical errors account for another 32,000 deaths. These figures include only deaths. Officials admit that medical errors are reported in official data only 5 percent of the time, so the problem is much greater – exactly how much greater, no one really knows.

How do we get Health Care to everybody? The big question is what do we do about it? How do we change it?
With the New Year fast approaching – we the people need to turn our thoughts to the problems which are facing this country. Why are millions of people without healthcare?
I for one think the most outstanding and the worst problem is the lack of Health Care for the people.
The Health Care industry is bleeding from every artery. If we took a knife and stuck it into a living person and watched their life’s blood ooze onto the floor, we would be watching our health care system.
We need to find out all the good and bad in a National Health Care System vs what is in place now. The most practical way to fix this problem is to ask the Health Care Professionals who actually work with the system. They would be the ones who could give a constructive outline as to what is really wrong, – and what and how it can be changed – to work.

Is being disease-free the same as being truly healthy? Some people seem to think so but let’s take a closer look.
A person can suffer from symptoms like migraine headaches, chronic constipation, one cold after another, digestive problems and feel tired most of the time and still get a clean bill of health from the doctor.
How is that possible? Within the accepted parameters of his profession and according to his training no disease or chronic problem is discernable.
Does that mean the doctor is incompetent? No, he is simply doing as much as his training and education equip him to do. If the tests results say everything is ok and his examination does not prove otherwise then you must be fine.
The truth is that allopathic doctors are trained to detect and fight disease in very specific ways. They are not trained to help you maintain optimal health. Doctors generally do not get involved until a patient’s health has been seriously compromised or tests indicate an impending health risk.
For some reason our culture has confused fighting disease with being healthy. They even call it “health care.” Perhaps it would be more accurate to call it “lack of health care.” Real health care implies that a healthy person is taking steps to maintain or care for their healthy condition. While we’re at it, the term health insurance is also misleading. The real truth is we don’t need it as long as we are healthy.
